  • Transcripts of your recordings
  • Recording duration and file metadata
  • Your recording consent acknowledgment (the version of the recording terms you accepted)

Recordings may capture other people's voices. You are responsible for recording lawfully and obtaining consent from anyone you record. See "Recordings That Include Other People" below.

  • Photos and images attached to notes

Web & YouTube Content (Optional Features)

  • Text you select and capture from web pages, with the page URL and title
  • YouTube video URLs you choose to capture and their transcripts (when requested)
  • Repeatica uses YouTube API Services to retrieve video information. By using YouTube capture features you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Browser Extension Data (Chrome and Safari)

When you use our browser extension:

  • What's Captured: Text you select and choose to save, screenshots you explicitly capture, page URL, page title
  • What's NOT Captured: Browsing history, cookies, passwords, form data, or any content you don't explicitly capture
  • Your Control: The extension only acts when you trigger it (toolbar button, right-click menu, or keyboard shortcut)

Sharing Data (Optional Feature)

If you share a note:

  • A snapshot of the shared note (title, content, images, and flashcards) is created and retained until you revoke the share
  • A limited preview of the share — the note title, your display name, a short content excerpt (roughly the first 300 characters), the note icon, and the flashcard count — is accessible to anyone who has the share link
  • Access to the full content depends on the share's access setting: invite-only (the default — only people you invite can view it, after signing in with an invited email address) or link access, if you switch the share so that anyone with the link can view it
  • Email addresses of people you invite to a share, so we can send them an invite email on your behalf
  • Share access settings and invite lists

AI Interactions (Optional and Built-In Features)

When you use our AI features:

  • Your note content, attachments (audio, images, PDFs, web captures, YouTube captures), and the messages you send in AI chat modes (Ask, Study, Explore, the Librarian, and Help AI) are processed through our AI provider
  • Some AI processing happens automatically: sources you add to a note are processed (transcribed or extracted) so they become usable notes, and your notes are indexed into a private semantic search index so the Librarian can answer questions about your library
  • When you use Explore (web search) mode, your question and relevant note context are used to perform a web search
  • Your conversations in note AI chat (Ask, Study, and Explore) and with the Librarian are saved to your account and synced across your devices so you can revisit them; you can delete any conversation at any time, and they are removed when you delete your account. Help AI conversations are not saved after you close them
  • Usage counters (credits and storage) to enforce plan limits

Device & Usage Information

  • Device type, operating system, app version
  • Pseudonymous device identifiers (app-instance identifiers, not advertising identifiers)
  • App feature interactions (e.g., screens viewed, sessions, engagement time)
  • Performance metrics and crash reports
  • Widget usage data (iOS/Android)
  • Desktop app update checks (app version and platform, sent to our update server)

Biometric & Security

  • Biometric authentication status (Face ID/Touch ID/Fingerprint enabled/disabled)
  • We do not store actual biometric data - this is handled by your device's systems

4. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to provide Repeatica. The key providers are listed below; this list is representative and may be updated as our services evolve:

Cloud Infrastructure & Authentication (Google Firebase / Google Cloud)

Purpose: User account management, secure sign-in (including phone number verification for SMS two-factor authentication), data storage, file storage, and synchronization
Data Shared: Email, user ID, phone number (if you enable SMS two-factor authentication), authentication tokens, and your Learning Content
Sign-In Options: Email/password, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In (iOS)

AI Processing Services (Google Vertex AI — Gemini models)

Purpose: Power AI features — summaries, lessons, flashcards, flashcard images, translations, transcription, text extraction, semantic indexing, and AI chat (including the Librarian and Help AI)
Data Shared: Note content, attachments (audio recordings, images, PDFs, web captures, YouTube captures), and your AI chat messages, when AI features run. Audio recordings are read directly from our cloud storage for transcription — no separate copy is uploaded to the AI provider.
Data Use: Processing runs on Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform under Google Cloud's data-processing terms: your content is not used to train the provider's models. Inputs and outputs may be cached for up to 24 hours to reduce latency, and prompts may be logged for a limited period solely to detect abuse and enforce Google's acceptable-use policies.
Web Search: When you use Explore mode, your question and relevant note context are used to perform a Google web search to ground the answer; Google retains logs derived from these grounding queries and context for up to 3 days, and grounded answers you keep appear in your saved chat history

YouTube API Services (Optional)

Purpose: Retrieve video information for YouTube content capture. Repeatica uses YouTube API Services.
Data Shared: YouTube video URLs you choose to capture
Learn More: YouTube Terms of Service · Google Privacy Policy

Subscription Management (RevenueCat)

Data Shared: User ID, subscription status, purchase history

Platform Services

  • Apple Services (iOS): App Store purchases, Sign in with Apple
  • Google Services (Android): Play Store purchases, Google Sign-In

Analytics & Crash Reporting (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics)

Purpose: Understand app usage patterns, measure feature adoption, diagnose crashes, and improve app quality
Data Shared: Pseudonymous device identifiers (app-instance identifiers), app interaction events (e.g., screens viewed, session duration), crash reports, device type, operating system version, and app version
Note: Analytics data is pseudonymous and analyzed in aggregate; we do not use it to identify you, and we do not use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps or websites.

Ad Campaign Measurement (iOS)

Purpose: Measure whether our Google Ads app-install campaigns result in app activity, using Google's on-device conversion measurement
How it Works:Matching happens entirely on your device. Your identity, email, and advertising identifiers are not shared with us or with Google's ad systems, and this data is not used to track you across apps or websites.

Email Services (Resend, Amazon SES)

Purpose: Deliver transactional emails (including share invites you initiate), product updates, and marketing emails
Data Shared: Email address, name, and email engagement data (e.g., delivery status, opens); for share invites, the invitee email addresses you provide

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data with:

  • Service providers for app functionality (as described in Section 4)
  • People you choose to share with — when you share a note, its title, your display name, and a short preview are visible to anyone with the link, and the full content is visible to the people you invite (or to anyone with the link, if you set the share to link access), until you revoke it
  • Aggregated, anonymized statistics for app improvement
  • Law enforcement if required by valid legal process
  • Business transfer in case of merger or acquisition

6. Recordings That Include Other People

Repeatica lets you record audio — including lectures, meetings, and other sessions — that may capture other people's voices. Before your first recording, we ask you to acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for recording lawfully. Recording laws vary by jurisdiction; many require the consent of all recorded parties.
  • You must obtain consent from anyone whose voice you capture, where required by law or by the rules of your institution or workplace.
  • We process recordings on your behalf — we store them with your note and transcribe them when you request or when auto-processing runs, as described in this policy.

We store your acknowledgment (the version of the recording terms you accepted) so we don't re-prompt you unnecessarily and can re-prompt you when the terms materially change.

If you are not a Repeatica user and believe your voice appears in a recording, that audio came to us from the user who made the recording. We process it on the legal basis of legitimate interests (see Section 12), and you can contact us at to exercise your privacy rights, including erasure.
