AI augments, never replaces
AI in Repeatica has a specific, bounded role: handle the mechanical work so the learner can focus on understanding. Transcribe the recording. Extract text from the image. Generate a first draft of flashcards. Summarize the key points. These are tasks where AI is genuinely faster and the learner gains nothing by doing them manually.
What AI should never do is replace the learner's own thinking. You can edit every generated flashcard. You can rewrite every summary. You can reject what the AI produces and create your own. The AI is a starting point, not an authority.
This boundary exists because the act of engaging with material — questioning it, restructuring it, deciding what matters — is itself a powerful learning mechanism. If AI does all the thinking, the learner retains nothing. The goal is to eliminate busywork, not bypass learning.
